Fast bowlers to play big part in Australia-Pakistan quarter-final

Australian skipper Michael Clarke has mentioned that wicket is going to play major role in tomorrow’s knockout clash of 2015 world cup against Pakistan at Adelaide. In pre-match press conference Clarke addressed media by saying that Adelaide pitch is having grass and if it remains same in Friday’s quarter-final match, then it will be helpful for seam bowlers.

Michael said, “I think fast bowling will play a big part tomorrow, especially if they leave that grass on the wicket like there is now –  fingers crossed. I think the (Adelaide) pitch has certainly got quicker over the years.”

Australia is favorite to win tomorrow’s quarterfinal but their skipper Clarke believes that both teams have good line-ups with following bowlers and batsmen. He is hoping to have a great quarterfinal match.

Clare said, “It’s a beautiful ground, and I think we’re going to see another great wicket tomorrow. But both teams have good fast bowlers in their line-ups so the batters, we’re going to have to make sure we play really well.”

On the green Adelaide Oval ground pitch, Australia will be going with regular openers Warner and Finch as in previous game Michael Clarke came to open. Aussie captain also believes that Pakistan has came back strong in world cup after losing initial matches.

“They’ve got a lot of talent in their attack and they’ve shown that through this tournament, they’ve got a good mix of youth and experience with their batting and they are led well really by Misbah.

I think tomorrow is going to be a really tough challenge for us and I do believe we have to be at our best to beat them,” Clarke added.
