Who would have thought that India will win Lord’s test when fifth day kicks off?
Well nobody thought but Indian bowlers did it. First with the bat and then ball. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami remained unbeaten to give India edge and helped team to setup 272 target for hosts in about two sessions on final day.
Mohammad Shami smashed 56 runs in 70 balls meanwhile Bumrah made 34 not out. English team got set back from the start as both openers returned to pavilion without scoring single run.
England had to bat 60 overs to draw the match but Whole English team dismissed in 52 overs after scoring 120 runs. Bumrah took 3 wickets.
Mohammad Siraj is the another pillar of India’s victory as he took four wickets in this second innings and eventually dismissed same number of batsmen in first innings.
Indian captain Virat Kohli dedicated this victory to people of India.
“This is the best gift for the Independence Day from us to the people of India”, Kohli said.
