India moves to next round of 2018 FIFA world cup Qualifiers

FIFA world rank 173 Indian football team has qualified for the next round of Russia world cup 2018 qualifier stage by playing draw match with Nepal in the second leg. India vs Nepal match ended at 0-0 score draw today on 17 March, 2015 here at Kathmandu. The second round of FIFA world cup qualifiers Asia will be played from 11 June, 2015 to 29 March, 2016.

India beat Nepal in the aggregate score as Indian team won first leg match by 2-0 and second leg game ended at 0-0. Hence Blue Tigers were ahead after both legs and now they through to the next round of world cup qualifiers.

Head coach Stephen Constantine played with unchanged XI line-up that was played in previous match on 12 March.

Nepal showed good footballing skills and played aggressive game from the starting of match. But Indian defenders pushed hard to Nepal strikers and don’t let them score the goals. Nepali footballer Santosh Sahukhala was about to score in 17th minute of match but Subrata Pal stopped him and not allowed Nepal to take lead.

Indian team didn’t play so much aggressive football today and were relaxed a bit as they were having the lead of 2-0 that was given by Sunil Chhetri at Guwahati. Sunil tried to score goal in this match too and in 68th minute he entered in the D of Nepal but failed to hit the goal. After full time, the match was ended at 0-0 score line.

The draw for FIFA world cup 2018 qualifiers 2nd round is scheduled to be held on 14 April, 2015 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
