The visiting team will be playing with three major batting icons in their line-up Tillakaratne Dilshan, Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene. This is going to be the right time for Sri Lanka to make a perfect playing 11 just before the world cup. Sri Lanka is having great opportunity to adjust themselves with the conditions before entering in the world cup 2015.
The good news for Sri Lanka is that their key fast bowler Lasith Malinga will be joining them in the last games of seven One-Day match series. Malinga won’t be available for this first ODI but may play last two games in Dunedin and wellington.
The Kiwi team will be looking to win the One Day series too just like they won test series. But this is not going to be easy for them as Sri Lanka beat England in their last series. Tim Southee, Kyle Mills are not hundred percent fit and will miss the first game whereas Ross Taylor has been given rest to spend time with family and friends ahead of world cup.
Though these three key players are not going to play Christchurch ODI against Sri Lanka, New Zealand team still strong enough to win the match. Corey Anderson, Brendon McCullum, Boult, Vettori and Williamson are there to change the match at any moment for Blackcaps.
