India’s premium badminton player Saina Nehwal to get married on 16th December with her long time friend Parupalli Kashyap. In an exclusive interview with TOI, the shuttler confirmed the date of marriage by saying that December 16 was the only date in busy schedule to tie the knot with Kashyap.

The fact is Saina would be busy in participating to the fourth edition of Badminton Premier League from 20th December meanwhile she’ll be looking forward to be a part of 2020 Olympic Games qualifiers.
“I will get busy with the Premier Badminton League from December 20 and then qualifiers for the Tokyo Games will begin. So this was the only date that we had to get married,” Nehwal quoted as saying by Times of India.
Saina and Parupalli were engaged with each other from last 10 years as both players following and helping each other’s game. Even they played together as well.
“We started travelling for bigger tours from 2007-08 onwards. We played tournaments together, trained together and slowly, started paying more attention to each other’s matches,” she said.
28-year old Nehwal also mentioned that it was not easy to get marry earlier as both players needed time to focus on the sport.
“The career that we pursue is very demanding. It is very important to win tournaments and we didn’t want to shift our focus by getting married earlier. A player needs treatment and attention just like a baby.
