West Indies Team preview, analysis, 2015 ICC world cup

First two cricket world cup champions West Indies cricket team will be looking to win title once again after 36 years of long period time. West Indies won world cups in 1975 and 1979 under Clive Lloyd’s captaincy and in 2015 ICC world cup they’ll be looking win crown under Jason Holder’s leadership. Batting

Top Order

West Indies have got Chris Gayle, Dwayne Smith and Marlon Samuels at the top of batting order. Caribbean side has got one of the top opening pairs in 2015 world cup as Chris Gayle and Dwayne Smith both can play destructive cricket from the start of innings. Chris Gayle is one of the best and most dangerous openers of world cricket. He can score against any kind of bowling attack on his day.

Marlon Samuels is a combo of defensive and destructive batsman as he can score 15-20 runs in an over and on the other hand in next over he’ll make just 2-3. He can play according to the situation. Hence West Indies has good top order batting in world cup.

Middle Order

West Indies side has got real problem at the middle overs as they don’t have good batsmen in the middle order to play according to the situation. Darren Bravo, Darren Sammy, Andre Russell and Denesh Ramdin will be having responsibility to guide Caribbean team towards big total in first inning of game whereas they will have to make runs to chase the target too. So they need to bat well in these Australia and New Zealand conditions.

Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard are not the part of team and if they were in the side West Indies team will have the stability in the middle order.

Bowling

Before starting of 2015 world cup West Indies team got biggest setback as mystery spin bowler Sunil Narine withdrew from the tournament. Well now team can’t do much anything in it but now Suliemann Benn will be having huge responsibility to bowl good spin bowling for West Indies in the world cup. Captain Jason Holder, Jerome Taylor and Sheldon Cottrell will be the key fast bowlers in the side whereas Darren Sammy and Andre Russell will have the 5th bowler role in the Caribbean side.
