This is the second meet of Australia and Korea Republic in the competition as in group match they faced each other and Korea defeated Socceroos by 1-0.
Australian football side will be eager to win it and one of their key players Tim Cahill has mentioned that team is focusing on the match and practicing hard to win the title. Korean team haven’t concede single goal in the match, hence Cahill said that they have a good defence and we are looking forward to score tomorrow and also ready for penalty shootout if final goes there.
Tim Cahill said, “We normally do the penalty taking practice the day before the game as we have before every knockout game and we take advantage of technology and study some of the takers from previous games for Korea.”
“Hopefully it won’t come to that. I have full belief in the squad we’ll get the victory in normal time but if it does happen hopefully I can be there at the end of the day. In the moment you just need a bit of luck and hopefully it goes Australia’s way,” he added.
Socceroos qualified for the 2nd successive Asian cup final by beating UAE in the semifinal match by 2-0.
Coach Ange Postecoglou said, “There won’t be any secrets about how we go about it tomorrow (Saturday), we’ll take the game to the opposition, we’ll put pressure on them and it’s up to them to stop us from creating opportunities and scoring goals. Nothing’s going to change from that perspective.”
Two times AFC Asian Cup champion South Korea will be eager to win their third title of Asian cup. Korea Republic won 1956 and 1960 tournaments. In this year’s competition Korea team is playing very well and they haven’t conceded single goal in their five games.
South Korea team will also be motivated before the match as they beat Australia in the group match by 1-0. Lee Jung-Hyup scored in that match and helped team to win the game. Korea defeated Iraq in the semifinal match to make it through in the final.
Winner of this AFC Asian Cup will qualify for 2017 FIFA Federation Cup. So both sides will be eager to win it.
